Sunny Stewart

Sunny StewartSunny Stewart is a self-taught fused glass artist and the owner of Divine Glassworks, www.divineglassworks.com. She lives in St. Petersburg and has an art studio on her property. She displays her work in juried fine art shows around the state, such as Gasparilla, CraftArt and Cool Art, and in galleries nationwide. She also donates her work every year for several annual local fundraising events, including Lowry Park Zoo, and Martinis and Matisse. She teaches monthly classes in creating fused glass pendants and plates, and hosts Open Studio Nights for previous students. Her classes are held at Pinky’s Painted Cottage, a funky retro boutique featuring ceramic painting and cottage chic vintage furniture. Sunny also just produced her first intimate outdoor art show, Artful Women, in April on her property, with a dozen talented artists in attendance. She will continue to produce two to three shows a year. In addition, she holds Open Holiday Studio days the first two Saturdays of December.

Sunny creates a wide range of art consisting of jewelry, night lights, sculptural vessels, plate sets, including sushi sets for two, and larger sculptural pieces. She regularly creates custom work for special occasions like birthdays and weddings. She is constantly exploring new lines of work and is currently working on mixed media pieces mounted on wood, and artwork combining fused glass with sculpted and glazed hand-built clay.

Sunny is a member of the The Arts Center, The Florida Craftsmen Gallery, The Salvador Dali Museum and the Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA) in Pinellas County and a national exhibiting artist member of the American Craft Council. She serves as the publicity Chair for PAVA, handling public relations, marketing and media coverage for its annual Cool Art Show held in July at the historic Coliseum in downtown St. Petersburg since 2006 -- www.coolartshow.com.

Sunny is also in charge of stage set design for Amelia Eartheart Productions, which produces local jazz concerts with talented local and national musicians. Her sets always include art from local artists, as well as lighting, draping and additional design elements. Sunny is also passionate about empowering women to achieve their goals and dreams. To that end, she sends out a daily affirmation to empower women to build their self-esteem and change their lives. She has begun writing a book of her own affirmations which will take more than a year to produce.
