Sarah Taurman
Sarah Taurman is a native of New Orleans. After high school graduation, she had a two-year “gap year” before college, during which she was a member of Americorps NCCC in San Diego and worked for a Louisiana Congressman on Capitol Hill. Sarah graduated from Tulane University (A.B. Freeman School of Business) and studied abroad in Barbados and Australia.
In 2004, Sarah moved to Tampa, Fla., to be a pharmaceutical representative for a small company based in Louisiana. After realizing that her passion was helping people, and deciding that she was not passionate enough about the medical field to make it her career, she spent some time visualizing what her ideal day would be like (majority of the day meeting with clients) and the company culture she wanted (a team approach so she could bring more value to the client in the areas that were not her specialty).
Career testing and professional advice kept pointing her to the financial services industry (insurance, investment, and employee benefits). After many months of researching and interviewing in the financial services industry, Sarah found the company whose culture and beliefs matched her own and became a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual in 2007.
The philosophy she believed in was based on her own experiences, and was to help lead individuals, families or businesses to make financially secure decisions. Sarah’s belief is to look at the entire picture and help her clients fill in the gaps, complement what they already have in place (but not replace happy relationships), and, most importantly, make sure that her recommendations match the client’s goals and dreams.
